Viking Green Smoothie
10 minutes
This healthy, delicious Viking Green Smoothie is packed with antioxidants (which will remove toxins from your system), filling fiber, and protein. It is perfect for breakfast or as a snack between meals or recovery. 19g of protein and the potassium in the banana mean this is the perfect recovery drink after a workout or just enjoy because you have a lot to do and need to be ready for the rest of the day.
Equipment: Blender
Ingredients
-
1 6oz cup of Viking Pure Grass-Fed Icelandic Yogurt. You’ll need to keep the cup as it is the measuring tool. A smaller cup will change the ratio and make it very difficult to blend.
-
Spinach
-
Frozen or fresh pineapple chunks. (for this I prefer frozen because it’s cold, already cut, and much easier to work with)
-
Frozen or fresh mango chunks. For the same reason as above I prefer frozen.
-
Coconut water or apple juice
-
1 banana. (It is ok to buy a bunch and freeze them. If they are frozen, you’ll need to fully blend all of the other ingredients first and then add in the frozen banana and blend a second time. If freezing the bananas, make sure to cut them up into smaller slices.)
-
A pinch of cayenne pepper. (optional) This will add a bit of spice after the sweetness and help your immune system. I was skeptical at first but I really like it. A little bit goes a long way. You won’t taste it for at least a second after you sip the smoothie.
1. Spoon out the full 6oz cup of Viking Icelandic Yogurt Pure into the blender. Make sure you get as much out as possible.
2. Using the empty Viking cup as a measuring tool, fill it with coconut water or apple juice and pour into the blender.
3. Using the empty Viking cup as a measuring tool, fill it with spinach. You can pack it very tightly or loosely depending on how much you want.
4. Using the empty Viking cup as a measuring tool, fill it with mango chunks. You can overfill if you want a sweeter smoothie.
5. Using the empty Viking cup as a measuring tool, fill it with pineapple chunks. You can overfill if you want a sweeter smoothie (blend after this step if the banana is frozen).
6. Add a banana. (If the banana is frozen be sure it is cut up and do not add until the other ingredients have been blended. If you do, you will need to stop and mix the smoothie regularly to get it to blend.)
7. Add a pinch of cayenne pepper. (optional)
8. Blend the smoothie.
